2012 Tri Dist Challenge

About the Censored Tri Distance Challenge

Calling MEN; WOMEN and KIDS to Join the TriGals in a self-paced triathlon completed incrementally throughout the course of the month.  For the entire month of January participants will strive to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles. (or more!)  Participants log their miles on the honor system as they are accrued and submit weekly on the provided chart. 

All participants, regardless of miles logged, will receive a performance t-shirt at the awards celebration in February (date/time/place TBD). During the party we will announce our winners in each division.   Winners are determined by the MOST MILES attributed to a full Triathlon.  You do not need to be present to win.  (see official rules for details)

Winners will receive a monetary donation to their favorite charity in their name.  The amount of each donation will depend on the number of overall registrants for the Censored Tri Distance Challenge. 

Individual:  The overall winner will be determined by the total number of completed Long Distances.

Relay Team:  Teams may consist of up to 3 individuals and each team member is responsible for one discipline in the triathlon.  (Swim; Bike; Run).  No one discipline can be shared among the relay team.  (If a relay team has 2 participants, one participant will have 2 disciplines).

Partners Team:  Teams will consist of 2 individuals and each team member can log miles in all 3 disciplines in the triathlon (Swim; Bike; Run)

Spirit Team:   There is a limit of 25 team members per spirit team. Team members may log as many miles as they choose in any category.

Individual Kid Winner: The Kid with the most miles will receive a goodie bag and gift card

WRAP UP PARTY—all Participants are invited to attend the IDC wrap up party hosted by the Tampa Bay TriGals.  This year, in addition to a Dri-Fit T-shirt and a great goodie bag provided by Hammer; Cliff Bar and Luna Bar products, we will have numerous prizes to raffle off from our sponsors — including Bike Helmets; shirts, magnets and other fun gifts. Those participating outside the Tampa/St. Petersburg greater area will have their shirts mailed.
